One time a friend came to me and said that they wanted to accept Jesus as their saviour, but they couldn't possibly do it at that moment in their life. There was too much bad stuff that they couldn't accept that God would love them for who they were and said they needed to clean up their life first. I then asked them if they needed to take a bath before they went into the shower. Think about that for a minute. We don't have to clean up our lives before we live for God. Jesus is the One who cleanses us, so why then would we ever think we have to clean the junk out of our lives in order to come to Jesus? We don't need to go take a bath because Jesus is the shower that washed our sins away.
